Some are asking for a better method for team balance, a party size beyond four players, and fixes to various bugs for spawning, customization, matchmaking, and crashes. Looking at the negative user reviews on Steam, many players want the cross-platform party feature as soon as possible so they can play with their friends without having to start their progress over.

The better question is whether Chivalry 2 will be able to keep the momentum going.
WILL CHIVALRY 2 BE ON STEAM UPDATE
That said, according to the public Trello highlighting the game’s roadmap, the cross-platform parties feature is slated for Content Update 2.6 later in 2022 and PS4-PS5 cross-generation party support is in the “We Are Working on This” column. Also, players on Steam cannot connect to those on Epic Games Store, and PS4-PS5 cross-generation party support is unavailable (unlike the Xbox One and Xbox Series X|S consoles). The game also features cross-play between Xbox, PlayStation, and PC platforms to bolster matchmaking numbers, though to be clear, players on different platforms currently cannot create parties with one another. So Chivalry 2 is certainly not dead, not by a long shot. At the time of this writing, the Steam player count is somewhere between 11,000 and 14,000 players according to SteamDB. With the game recently available on Steam, a huge influx of new players have entered the fray.
